About the role
- Create and monitor standard policies and procedures for billing and collections
- Ensure HIPAA privacy compliance for assigned entities
- Act as a subject matter expert on billing and collections
- Support, update, and advise internal and external customers on billing issues
- Recommend and implement improvements to billing processes
- Keep abreast of rules, regulations, and laws affecting billing and collection
- Develop and implement policies for billing and collections
- Train ASCs on business office policies
- Assist in management of HIPAA, compliance, and audits
- Monitor claims to ensure compliance with Medicare rules and regulations
- Evaluate billing systems of potential acquisitions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 5 years of healthcare billing experience is required
- Knowledge of Ambulatory Surgery Center operations is preferred
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to understand, read, write and speak English
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, and regulations
- Ability to write business correspondence and present information
