About the role
- Work on next-generation capabilities and services in Applied AI & Automation using COTS, open-source, and cloud services.
- Ensure quality, compliance, and performance across Amgen’s Applied AI & Automation footprint.
- Leverage domain and business process expertise to detail product requirements as epics and user stories, business process maps, use cases, and test plans.
- Work closely with developers and business analysts to elaborate technical requirements for development.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers, Engineering, and testing teams to define scope, prioritize release scope, and groom product backlog.
- Facilitate breakdown of Use Cases into Features and Sprints and participate in backlog reviews with the development team.
- Clearly express features in User Stories/requirements and maintain them in tools such as Jira; ensure Feature Acceptance Criteria and Definition of Done are well-defined.
- Work closely with UX to align technical requirements, scenarios, and business process maps with designs.
- Validate that test scenarios meet feature acceptance criteria and customer expectations; stay focused on software development quality.
- Develop and implement effective product demonstrations for internal and external collaborators.
Requirements
- Master’s degree and 1 to 3 years of experience with Agile software development methodologies (Scrum) OR Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years OR Diploma and 7 to 9 years with Agile (Scrum).
- Experience as a Scrum Master in Agile and SAFe environments.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with senior leadership.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and passion for tackling complex challenges in drug discovery with technology.
- Experience in writing requirements for development of modern web application and/or automation solutions.
- Experience with writing user requirements and acceptance criteria in agile project management systems such as JIRA.
- Experience with business process design / re-engineering.
- Familiarity with GxP, CFR 21 Part 11 and systems validation (good-to-have).
- Experience with tools like SIPOC diagrams, value stream maps, and process capability analysis (good-to-have).
- Experience with BMPN modeling tools (good-to-have).
- Familiarity with Automation technologies (e.g., UiPath, Docusign, Power Platform, Chat GPT, etc.) (good-to-have).
- Demonstrated expertise in a scientific domain area and related technology needs (good-to-have).
- Understanding of scientific software systems strategy, governance, and infrastructure (good-to-have).
- Experience in managing product features for PI planning and developing product roadmaps and user journeys (good-to-have).
- Ability to communicate technical or complex subject matters in business terms.
- Jira Align experience (good-to-have).
- Miro experience (good-to-have).
- Knowledge of network security protocols and tools (e.g., IPSEC, SSL, IDS/IPS, firewalls) (good-to-have).
- Professional certifications optional but valuable: SAFe for Teams, Lean Six Sigma, BABOK (ECBA, CCBA, CBAP).
- Able to work under minimal supervision and provide oversight and mentoring team members.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, presentation and public speaking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully and work effectively with global virtual teams.
