About the role

  • Manage end‑to‑end recruitment across a wide range of roles, from vacancy briefing through to offer management.
  • Deliver high‑volume recruitment for frontline and operational roles while also supporting technical and specialist hiring.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for hard‑to‑fill roles, ensuring we are proactive rather than reactive in our approach.
  • Plan and run recruitment campaigns, including attraction activity, job advertising, sourcing, and attendance at recruitment fairs and events.
  • Work closely with hiring managers and senior stakeholders to understand their workforce needs, challenge where appropriate, and agree realistic hiring plans.
  • Use recruitment data (time‑to‑hire, vacancy volumes, pipeline health, diversity insights) to prioritise activity and improve recruitment outcomes.
  • Reduce reliance on agencies by strengthening direct sourcing, referrals and pipeline activity where possible.
  • Keep up to date with labour market trends across highways, rail and infrastructure to inform recruitment planning.

Requirements

  • Experience delivering high‑volume recruitment.
  • Ability to take a strategic approach to hard‑to‑fill roles, including direct sourcing and headhunting.
  • Confident building strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage priorities and stay organised during busy periods.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience in recruitment market trends across highways, rail and infrastructure.
