About the role

  • Oversee daily cleaning operations across the school sites within your remit
  • Develop cleaning schedules around school activities and timetables
  • Minimize complaints by ensuring service delivery in line with contractual cleaning KPIs
  • Ensure deep cleaning is completed during school holidays or when required, as per schedule agree with client
  • Respond promptly to urgent cleaning requests such as spillages or illness incidents
  • Supervise and support cleaning staff, including planning rotas and allocating duties
  • Manage staff performance in line with Amey HR policy and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with Amey’s COSHH, safeguarding and health & safety policies
  • Maintain cleaning materials, consumables, and equipment
  • Work collaboratively with Amey Operations Managers and Facilities Managers to ensure contractual compliance

Requirements

  • Supervisory experience in cleaning, facilities, or site management
  • Strong knowledge of COSHH regulations and chemical safety
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and manage a team
  • Basic IT literacy for rotas, audits, and communication
  • Experience maintaining accurate training records and coordinating staff training programmes
  • Experience working in a school or educational environment
  • Health & safety training, such as IOSH
  • BICSc qualification
  • Experience managing deep cleans or term‑time staffing structures
