About the role
- Oversee daily cleaning operations across the school sites within your remit
- Develop cleaning schedules around school activities and timetables
- Minimize complaints by ensuring service delivery in line with contractual cleaning KPIs
- Ensure deep cleaning is completed during school holidays or when required, as per schedule agree with client
- Respond promptly to urgent cleaning requests such as spillages or illness incidents
- Supervise and support cleaning staff, including planning rotas and allocating duties
- Manage staff performance in line with Amey HR policy and procedures
- Ensure compliance with Amey’s COSHH, safeguarding and health & safety policies
- Maintain cleaning materials, consumables, and equipment
- Work collaboratively with Amey Operations Managers and Facilities Managers to ensure contractual compliance
Requirements
- Supervisory experience in cleaning, facilities, or site management
- Strong knowledge of COSHH regulations and chemical safety
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to motivate and manage a team
- Basic IT literacy for rotas, audits, and communication
- Experience maintaining accurate training records and coordinating staff training programmes
- Experience working in a school or educational environment
- Health & safety training, such as IOSH
- BICSc qualification
- Experience managing deep cleans or term‑time staffing structures
