About the role

  • Ensuring correct revenue and cost allocation across works
  • Analysis of scheme profitability and cost variances, including revenue and cost reconciliations
  • Ad-hoc financial analysis to support decision making across the contract
  • Supporting the business budgeting and forecasting processes and management of actual performance against the latest budget/forecast
  • Production of Balance Sheet reconciliations along with identifying and dealing with potential issues
  • Liaising with Group Finance on queries

Requirements

  • Part-qualified looking to progress to qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Previous management accountancy experience in a similar environment
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of accounting practices and reporting requirements
  • Experience of supporting the production of management accounts, including working with profit centres and producing variance analyses
  • Organisation and planning skills, with ability to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of SAP would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience of working within an Infrastructure environment, specifically Highways, Rail, Construction preferred but not essential.
