About the role

  • Place and receive phone calls to/from patients to collect payment for medical expenses
  • Offer solutions and negotiate repayment terms balancing needs of patients, clients, and the business
  • Collect demographic, insurance, and other relevant information and document in internal systems
  • Leverage internal technology platforms and web-based tools to research and resolve patient questions
  • Engage in active listening, confirm/clarify information, and diffuse upset patients
  • Educate patients on the healthcare revenue cycle and repayment programs/incentives
  • Follow department processes and procedures in compliance with industry laws and regulations
  • Refer patients and accounts to other departments as appropriate
  • Establish meaningful relationships with peers to facilitate collaboration and trust
  • Meet key performance indicators and expectations for the position
  • Perform duties with integrity and confidentiality
  • Pursue professional development and complete assigned training and compliance learning plans

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • 1+ year(s) of experience speaking Spanish fluently in a professional setting, ideally in a customer service capacity (required)
  • 1+ year(s) of experience in a customer service capacity (preferred)
  • 1+ year(s) of experience contributing to a team culture of learning and growth (preferred)
  • Basic understanding of contact center processes and techniques (preferred)
  • Exposure to collections industry, healthcare revenue cycle, and medical insurance and billing processes and terminology (preferred)
  • Must reside in Wisconsin if working from home
