About the role
- Manage the daily maintenance activities in a warehouse, including refrigeration, maintenance and forklift associates.
- Plan, schedule, assign, and ensure completion of repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, equipment, and utility systems for refrigerated warehouse.
- Identify current and future maintenance requirements and design/modify preventive maintenance programs.
- Prepare annual maintenance budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, PSM requirements, mechanical/electrical/municipal/state codes, and environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Resolve maintenance problems and assess future repair needs; coordinate repairs and ensure handling equipment is safe and operational.
- Develop comprehensive energy plan including consumption, rate goals, strategies, conservation plans, and utilization effectiveness.
- Maintain working knowledge of new technologies to improve operations and recommend changes.
- Work with General Manager to develop annual budgets, departmental financial goals, and capital expense budgets for facility and equipment improvements.
- Direct department activities to design or modify products, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.
Requirements
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Completion of all eight (8) RETA courses.
- HAZMAT certification.
- Five to eight years in warehouse maintenance management experience.
- 3 years general supervisory/management experience.
- Requires the ability to successfully complete the requirements of the Americold Certified Maintenance Manager program within 6 (six) months of start date of employment.
- Forklift certification.
- Knowledge of ISO.
- Knowledge of SAP preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, be on call, and work overtime, evenings, or weekends as required.
- Physical ability to occasionally lift/move objects up to 20 pounds and work in temperatures at or below freezing.
