Interface with relevant departments to obtain a thorough understanding of NOV products and how they are safely operated, tested, calibrated and problems are resolved in a timely manner.
Travel to customer sites to inspect, install, commission, test, calibrate, repair and train customers on the safe and proper operation of NOV products.
Perform field upgrades of software and hardware and train customers on how to properly operate the system.
Communicate field failures and feedback reports to the appropriate departments.
Complete and submit field service documentation in a timely manner.
Utilize safe work habits.
Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Prepare for service jobs including downloading drawings, software, and all procedures required.
Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair NOV Control Systems (Amphion, CyberBase, EDA, KEMS).
Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Step 7, Direct Soft, and Allen Bradley.
Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair VFD and/or SCR.
Work in repair shop as needed.
Requirements
Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 3 years’ experience working on and troubleshooting PLCs, electrical components, and oilfield equipment required.
Working knowledge of Direct Soft, Step 7, and Amphion software preferred.
Land Rig experience preferred.
Computer experience/proficiency required - Microsoft Office knowledge is required.
Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
Valid Driver’s license required – as you will be operating a company vehicle. Must provide transportation from home to the office.
Must obtain NOV corporate credit card and maintain an active status per NOV credit card policy.
Overtime will be required – must be willing & able to work nights, weekend, and on-call 24/7.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics required.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical/electronic/control circuits required.
Ability to utilize various electrical diagnostic tools including multimeters, oscilloscope, and basic hand tools required.
Ability to interact effectively with customer and contractor personnel.
