About the role
- responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of the general ledger and performing other accounting duties related to the month-end close cycle including oversight of senior and staff level accountants.
- lead external audits and tax preparation work, manage special projects, and complete ad hoc reporting for Executive Leadership.
- oversee the treasury and cash management functions.
- Manage and direct the timely execution & accuracy of the monthly accounting close process, inclusive of reviewing journal entries, detailed account reconciliations, financial reports & supporting schedules
- Oversee and maintain all aspects of the general ledger
- Provide strategic financial guidance and leadership while ensuring effective internal controls through the development and implementation of policies and procedures
- Ensure successful completion and timely filing of the company’s tax filings
- Plan for and manage the company’s liquidity needs and oversee cash flow
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company’s organizational structure to ensure legal compliance across all accounting and finance functions
- Plan, coordinate, and manage the year-end audit with internal stakeholders and external audit partners
- Hire, train, and develop accounting staff
- Support the Executive Leadership Team with ad hoc requests and resolution of issues as needed
- Monitor and analyze financial KPIs to measure the effectiveness of accounting processes and identify opportunities for improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in accounting, prior management experience preferred
- Experience with performing complex accounting research and technical activities
- Experience with accounting general ledger ERP software, experience with Financial Force preferred
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel
- Must have meticulous attention to detail and a drive to lead and implement process improvements
- Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar.
- Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listen and get clarification; respond well to questions; demonstrate group presentation skills; and lead effective meetings.
- Able to work well independently, collaborate with others, establish priorities, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
- Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
