About the role

  • Oversee end-to-end revenue cycle processes, including billing, coding, collections, and reimbursement, ensuring alignment with AAC’s financial goals.
  • Partner with other AAC management team members and Hansei to identify, develop and implement strategies to optimize revenue cycle operations, reduce days in accounts receivable, and improve cash flow.
  • Collaborate with the AAC management team and Hansei to enhance RCM processes, ensuring seamless integration and partnership.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue cycle efficiency and implement continuous improvements; develop action plans to ensure optimization of key metrics.
  • Foster strong working relationships with internal departments, including Operations, Finance, and Clinical Services, to support organizational objectives.
  • Act as a change agent in improving patient financial responsibility (PFR) collection strategies, both internally and in partnership with Hansei.
  • Influence and motivate cross-functional teams without direct authority to achieve revenue cycle goals.
  • Facilitate effective communication between AAC and Hansei to strengthen the partnership and align objectives.
  • Participate in executive decision-making processes specific to RCM/managed care, contributing to the overall strategic direction of AAC.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to the Board of Directors (as needed) and the CEO, articulating RCM performance and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure transparency and effective communication of RCM activities to senior leadership.
  • Ensure all RCM activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as AAC policies.
  • Implement internal operational best practices in RCM to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of policies and procedures related to revenue cycle functions.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and regulatory changes to ensure AAC’s RCM processes remain compliant and competitive.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in revenue cycle management within the healthcare industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in managed care negotiations and payer relations.
  • Proven track record of managing receivables and improving revenue cycle processes in organizations of comparable size to AAC.
  • Experience in the behavioral health sector, particularly in substance use and mental health treatment, is highly desirable.
