Director

• Assist the Director, Global Policy, to develop and achieve KPIs related to international food assistance advocacy under UNICEF USA’s policy and government affairs strategy.
• Assist the Director, Global Policy in cultivating and maintaining effective relationships, including drafting and sharing priority messaging and updates, with U.S. policymakers to influence and advance legislation and funding related to UNICEF USA priorities on international food assistance, including support for UNICEF’s global programs work on nutrition.
• Lead engagement with U.S. institutional stakeholders including select NGOs, commodity groups, and/or trade associations on policy initiatives and issues relevant to international food assistance; provide substantive participation, analysis, and information sharing (including across UNICEF USA departments and with UNICEF HQ) in representing UNICEF USA’s positions and partnerships (e.g. Child Nutrition Fund) externally with relevant partners, public interest groups, coalitions, and other organizations at working groups, partner meetings and events.
• Lead in tracking and assessing tailored approaches to engage key legislators and advocate for international food assistance that help deliver impact for children, including appropriations and authorization legislation (e.g. the Farm Bill) and amendments; developing new legislative ideas; and making recommendations on UNICEF USA’s policy agenda.
• In partnership with UNICEF’s Public Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Division (PPR), support organization of, and participate in as needed, Congressional staff-level meetings and other events; assist in strategizing and preparing briefing notes and other materials, including for senior UNICEF USA and UNICEF leaders and stakeholders (e.g., staff, grassroots, partners), including for meetings at key points in the agricultural appropriations process and at other points in which UNICEF presence can advance policy and/or funding outcomes.
• In partnership with the Public Affairs team, assist in seeking/securing opportunities to engage on UNICEF USA’s priorities and positions with key policymakers, both inside and outside the beltway, through support for grassroots events and strategic engagement with think tanks and research institutions to ensure UNICEF USA’s position is clearly voiced in spaces that reinforce UNICEF USA as the premier partner in advocacy for children worldwide.
• Provide support for a range of advocacy events, including with UNICEF, and support trainings with both internal and external audiences (in person and virtually). Collaborate across teams to draft content and socialize importance of UNICEF’s role in carrying out effective U.S. international food assistance for internal and external audiences.
• Contribute to the Global Policy and Public Affairs department’s operational and strategic planning and evaluation processes including through administrative tasks like monitoring and reporting of federal lobbying efforts in Quorum.
• Remain attuned to political dynamics, sensitivities, and happenings related to key Congressional committees of jurisdiction.
• Backstop other team members in support of collaborative strategy development and execution.

Assistant Director, International Food Assistance Advocacy

• Reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate and Civil Society Partnerships (CCSP), working closely with CCSP, Global Policy and Public Affairs, and Strategy and Planning teams.
• Focused on engaging private sector partners and prospects to progress children’s rights and business (CRB) practice and regulation.
• Collaborate with UNICEF HQ, country offices, and Centers of Excellence to advance child online protection and child rights by aligning strategic business priorities.
• Drive the development, refinement, and implementation of the BR4C strategy and synthesize and communicate key insights and emerging trends to internal teams.
• Engage or support corporate partners and prospects to inform and expand US private sector partners’ policies and practices.
• Monitor emerging trends, risks and developments related to child rights and safety and child labor at the policy level.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across CCSP, Global Policy and Public Affairs, Strategy, and Marcomms.

Deputy Director, Business Results for Children

• Supports the effective execution of UNICEF USA’s talent strategy by supporting data-driven decision making across recruitment and onboarding efforts
• Implementing job architecture and compensation frameworks
• Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the recruitment process, which is delivered in partnership with external recruiting vendors.
• Serves as the primary internal manager and coordinator of the recruitment lifecycle, ensuring role clarity, consistent application of compensation practices, strong vendor performance, and a positive hiring manager and candidate experience.
• Works closely with People & Culture leadership, Finance, and hiring managers to ensure recruitment activities are aligned with organizational standards and priorities.
• This role is hands-on, operational, and integrative, with responsibility for managing processes and partners.

Assistant Director, Talent Strategy

Procurement

• Plans, implements, administers, evaluates, and enhances procurement and contracting operations, including pre-qualification assessment, interview and selection processes, negotiation of business terms, and tender management, in partnership with the Director, Legal and Contract Specialist.
• In partnership with the Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel, develops, recommends, and administers policies, procedures, and processes for procurement best practices and procurement-related risk management and mitigation; implements, collaborates with Finance and Legal colleagues and monitors compliance with approved policies, procedures, and processes, ensuring alignment with Organization mission, values, goals, and objectives and local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
• Develops and pursues cost reduction and avoidance goals and incorporates analysis that include consideration of value, standardization, price/cost, and make/buy to negotiate terms of contractual arrangements.
• Responds to requests for information.
• Serves as a high-level subject matter expert (SME) providing technical guidance and direction on procurement and contracting, in partnership with Legal colleagues.
• Coordinate with Finance and Legal colleagues to ensure financial and legal obligations are met, including with regard to privacy and cybersecurity.
• Understanding current market to identify areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results.
• Develop and implement KPI’s and other relevant metrics to measure procurement and vendor-management efficiency and ensure procurement efforts are aligned with organizational strategy.
• Developing strong relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business, including procurement, vendor onboarding, offboarding, and continual management.

Director, Procurement

• Serve as the organizational owner of the collaboration ecosystem, defining the vision and roadmap for tools and integrations.
• Lead the consolidation and optimization of platforms, with Atlassian at the center of project management, service delivery, and knowledge sharing.
• Develop governance models that balance autonomy for teams with organizational standards, security, and compliance.
• Explore and implement AI-driven features to modernize collaboration - such as intelligent knowledge discovery, workflow automation, and proactive reporting.
• Strong knowledge and/or ability to learn the Atlassian Cloud suite to configure, customize, and maintain the Atlassian Teamwork collection (Jira, Confluence, Loom) to enable scalable workflows, automation, and reporting.
• Integrate systems across related tools to support operational reporting and seamless collaboration.
• Evaluate and implement new apps, plugins, AI assistants, and APIs that extend platform functionality.
• Conduct proactive system monitoring, upgrades, and performance management to ensure high availability and resilience.
• Lead and coordinate the assessment, planning, and execution of migrations from legacy collaboration and project management tools into the Atlassian ecosystem and integrated platforms.
• Develop migration strategies that minimize disruption, preserve data integrity, and ensure continuity of workflows during transition periods.
• Collaborate with technology and business teams to address compatibility, compliance, and user adoption challenges related to legacy system decommissioning.
• Provide training, documentation, and support to help users adapt to new platforms post-migration.
• Monitor and troubleshoot migration processes, iterating on approaches to optimize efficiency and outcomes.
• Act as a trusted advisor to teams, helping design workflows, dashboards, and knowledge spaces that are intelligent, efficient, and user-centered.
• Build strong relationships across the organization to translate needs into impactful solutions.
• Provide training and resources that empower teams to use collaboration and AI-enabled tools with confidence and autonomy.
• Champion a modern approach to collaboration and knowledge sharing, inspiring adoption and cultural change through design, communication, and AI-enabled experiences.
• Partner closely on with UUSA Internal Comms Champions and Change Agents on transformation and adoption.
