About the role
- Provide timely, practical and strategic legal advice
- Draft, review and interpret contracts, policies, and client communications
- Collaborate with business units to address privacy issues
- Support responsible AI initiatives
- Monitor legal developments and provide actionable guidance
- Lead routine litigation and collection files
- Support VP - General Counsel on complex matters
Requirements
- Law degree from a recognized institution
- Membership in good standing of the Law Society of Alberta
- 5+ years relevant legal experience
- Strong working knowledge of insurance law
- Excellent judgement and ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
- Strong drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
- Litigation experience is an asset
