About the role
- Lead a team building systems that power Affirm’s critical data pipelines
- Provide hands-on leadership within the Data Lake platform
- Direct the team’s roadmap in collaboration with peers
- Improve administration, operation and productization of data infrastructure
- Collaborate across engineering and analytics teams to deliver long-term technical roadmap
- Coach and mentor team members and provide timely feedback
- Hold high technical bar and drive improvement of team’s quality standards and development processes
- Work closely with peers across the organization on projects that turn opportunity into results
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering
- 2+ years of engineering leadership experience
- Prior experience architecting, building, launching and maintaining OLAP systems
- Demonstrable knowledge of online storage systems, data replication processes and cloud data warehouses
- Demonstrated experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers
- Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and influence technical decisions across teams
- Community builder with strong network-building and collaboration skills
- Excellent communication skills, able to articulate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
