About the role
- Provide sales, operations and personnel leadership for the store
- Ensure all business and personnel targets are met or exceeded
- Manage and allocate resources effectively to ensure store meets key performance indicators and profit and loss expectations
- Positively communicate and demonstrate the Brand values, attitude and culture
- Ensure consistent implementation of all corporate programs, initiatives and strategies
- Provide constructive feedback to District Manager on success and feasibility of current and new programs
- Create effective succession, recruiting, hiring and training plans, resulting in lower store turnover
- Develop staff by evaluating and providing performance feedback
- Promote a high performance culture by setting clear expectations
- Cooperate with District Manager to develop clear action plans for store
- Take clear accountability for training and execution in-store in all areas
- Produce results under various market conditions
- Develop and maintain wage costs and overall expense control
- Assume responsibility for accuracy of all cash management
- Maintain confidentiality of retail operating information
- Maintain building and premises in a safe, organized and clean manner
Requirements
- College or University or 2 or more years of Retail management experience, preferably in the Sporting Apparel & Footwear industry
- Proficient retail knowledge – operational and selling skills
- Retail business management skills (fiscal and operational)
- Proficient skills in coaching and talent management
- Ability to prioritize and allocate resources effectively
- Well developed ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak (conversational) English
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, customers, and the general public
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Excellent computer skills (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to quickly learn new systems (e.g. POS systems, web-portals, etc.)
- Excellent command of the English language and French languages.
