Oversee day-to-day activities of the accounting team and ensure finance function is well organised
Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, supporting schedules and relevant reports for monthly/quarterly management reporting
Perform financial variance analysis to facilitate decision making for monthly management/quarterly reporting
Maintain accurate journal entries and allocations; reconcile accounts and provide analysis for financial transactions
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and disclosure notes
Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities; monitor monthly revenue/costs against targets and perform variance analysis
Prepare monthly cashflow forecasts and manage accounts payable and receivables (billing)
Liaise with banks and prepare documents for drawdown of bank facilities; calculate cost of capital and provide asset/capital data
Support annual financial audit process; respond to auditors and resolve audit findings
Implement policies and procedures with emphasis on internal controls to prevent fraud and errors
Prepare tax computation for tax filing and quarterly GST filing
Operate accounting information systems; extract data, generate reports and provide analysis; prepare business activity reports and forecasts for management and external stakeholders
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or relevant qualification e.g. ACCA or CA, CPA etc.
Minimum 3-4 years and above relevant working experience in accounting and/or auditing, preferably at least 2 years accounting experience in commercial setting.
At least 2 years accounting experience in preparing full set of accounts preferred
Accounting/Auditing experience in IT industry/ software development company is a plus
Advanced MS Excel skills to be able to generate useful financial reports and charts for analysis
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS)
Strong knowledge and experience with general ledger functions
Familiar with project/contract revenue accounting and percentage of completion method
Hands-on experience with MYOB and Fact software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks is a plus
Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
Good time management and organisational skills. Able to manage and prioritise multiple tasks at hand effectively.
