About the role

  • Manage assigned principals’ business in a defined marketing area to increase sales and market share
  • Deliver principals’ volume, share, and sales fundamental goals (merchandising, assortment, pricing, and shelving)
  • Maximize company revenue through brokerage, commissions, bonuses, and contest earnings
  • Communicate principals’ priorities to Retail Sales Managers, Sales Technology Managers, Marketing Managers, Business Managers, and retail selling organization
  • Report directly to the General Manager or Team Leader and participate in introductions to new principals
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with principals and customers and proactively communicate with key principals
  • Coordinate communication and collaborate with Retail Sales Managers on retail initiatives, new product introductions, selling drives, and contests
  • Coordinate principals’ market visits and key account calls and sell principals’ specific programs and initiatives
  • Provide feedback on effectiveness of principals’ strategies and offer suggestions to improve business
  • Maintain current account distribution information, review market pricing reports, and collect and report competitive activity
  • Manage personal skill development plan and share customer/manufacturer information with team members
  • Ensure client procedures and policies are followed, manage promotional plans and fund balances, and monitor financial issues such as deductions
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall business success

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • A proven track-record in sales; preferably with a food broker or national company
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, presentation, negotiation, and sales skills
  • Ability to analyze sales and marketing information needed to make effective sales presentations
  • Proficient in a variety of software packages used to support the sales function
  • Willing to travel
