About the role
- Serve as a subject matter expert in Professional Services procurement, with deep knowledge of category strategies and supplier capabilities.
- Act as a category lead, with a strong understanding of business needs and supplier landscapes.
- Implement category strategies in alignment with Global Category Strategy guidance.
- Lead and support contract negotiations, ensuring optimal value and risk mitigation.
- Conduct supplier research, value analysis, and cost evaluations to drive informed sourcing decisions.
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Ethics & Compliance, and other internal partners to ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand needs and align on sourcing strategies.
- Identify and engage with diverse suppliers, supporting Abbott’s commitment to supplier diversity.
- Support the execution of sourcing strategies and initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of procurement experience, preferably in professional services or indirect categories.
- Strong negotiation and strategic sourcing skills.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate across functions and levels.
- Experience in supplier management and contract negotiation.
- Preferred: 2+ years of functional experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Preferred: Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Preferred: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Ariba) and data governance tools.
- Preferred: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods and extensive keyboard use.
