About the role

  • Define sales strategies to acquire new clients.
  • Act as a strategic partner to key existing accounts.
  • Oversee the sales pipeline and mentor junior BD Leads.
  • Build a robust network at key industry events.
  • Act as the senior point of contact for key clients.
  • Identify opportunities to expand service scope.
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
  • Manage account profitability and billing/contract negotiations.
  • Supervise and mentor Business Development Leads and Associates.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Creative, and Project Management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Business Development, Account Management, or Sales within a Marketing Agency, Advertising, or Entertainment industry setting.
  • Native-level proficiency in English and Japanese.
  • Proven history of meeting or exceeding revenue targets ($1M+ annual portfolio management experience preferred).
  • Deep understanding of the US & Japanese entertainment landscape (Anime, Manga, Gaming) and marketing agency business models.
  • 2+ years of experience in managing or mentoring junior team members.
  • Strong grasp of digital marketing, media planning, and creative production workflows to effectively consult clients.
  • Existing relationships with key stakeholders in the US entertainment and licensing sectors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field. MBA is a plus.
