Legal Practice Assistant – Legacy Liability Litigation

• Managing all administrative tasks associated with the legal process of NY, NJ and PA foreclosures, focusing on NY.
• Drafting, responding to correspondence and updating client systems.
• Consistently and accurately updating the firm’s internal case management system, as well as all clients’ systems.
• Providing exceptional customer service to clients at every level of interaction.
• Drafting and proofreading legal documents as required.
• Providing support to attorneys in a high volume, time sensitive atmosphere.
• Providing regular and timely client status updates, as well as continual follow-up on outstanding documents and or services.
• Assist attorneys in preparing and filing legal documents, including complaints, motions, and pleadings, in compliance with court rules and deadlines.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy and preparation.
• Manage and organize case files, including electronic and physical documents.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel professionally and effectively.
• Coordinate and schedule court appearances, motion hearing dates, and other legal proceedings.

• Work on loss mitigation efforts and coordinating with both our client and all parties.

Foreclosure Legal Assistant

• Provides client management support for attorney, not limited to written and verbal communications with clients along with maintaining docket and client specific procedures.
• Assists attorney in prosecuting patent applications in the United States and various foreign countries.
• Establishes and maintains patent files: opens files, prepares documents for filing including, patent applications, Preliminary Amendments, Information Disclosure Statements, Responses to Missing Parts, Assignments, Amendments, payments of Issue Fees, etc.
• Reviews all incoming correspondence from U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and foreign associates for essential docketing.
• Maintain clients’ portfolios by being proactive in facilitating communication between attorney and client.
• Maintains and updates docketing log spreadsheet.
• On-going verbal and written communication with attorneys, clients and foreign associates.
• Other administrative tasks and projects as may be assigned.

Patent Prosecution Legal Assistant – Hybrid

• Support 2–3 trademark attorneys in all aspects of U.S. and international trademark prosecution, TTAB opposition and cancellation proceedings, and trademark portfolio management.
• Maintain accurate client and matter files, prepare prosecution forms, status reports, and office action reporting emails.
• Assist attorneys with TTAB opposition and cancellation proceedings and support trademark litigation matters as assigned.
• Maintain and review trademark docketing systems for accuracy and proactively monitor deadlines.
• Record daily time entries and assist attorneys with billing and special requests.

Trademark Legal Assistant

• Provide legal and administrative support to a team of attorneys.
• Create, prepare, proofread, and amend high volume complex legal documents, pleadings, including table of contents and table of authorities, letters and emails.
• File pleadings with state and federal courts using various means, including electronic court filing systems.
• Calendar maintenance, such as scheduling hearings, briefing schedules, discovery deadlines, depositions, meetings, and knowledge of civil and federal court deadline filing dates, court rules, and procedures.
• Prepare for and assist in trials.
