• Manage local counsel in priority jurisdictions and translate legal advice into clear, practical business recommendations.
• Support international customer, vendor, partner, creator, and agency agreements.
• Advise on cross-border data, privacy, employment, IP protection, payments, anti-bribery, sanctions, and regulatory considerations.
• Help build internal policies and approval processes for international hiring, contracting, sales activity, and vendor management.
• Manage corporate governance, board consents, equity matters, investor requests, financing support, and corporate housekeeping.
• Partner with Finance and People on employment matters, contractor classification, equity administration, compensation issues, and international hiring considerations.

Head of Legal

• Manage and develop the defense strategy for employment-related litigation, including class actions, single-plaintiff lawsuits, and administrative charges.
• Direct and manage a large, active docket of employment-related litigation, including class actions, collective actions, and single-plaintiff lawsuits (claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and wrongful termination).
• Develop and execute comprehensive defense strategies from inception through resolution, including driving early case assessments, determining settlement vs. trial strategies, and managing discovery.
• Early Dispute Resolution: Evaluate pre-litigation demands and internal escalations; negotiate strategic resolutions to minimize financial exposure and operational disruption.
• Act as the primary legal partner to HR and business leaders on a wide range of day-to-day employment matters, including recruiting, hiring, performance management, accommodations, discipline, terminations, and organizational restructurings/RIFs.
• Balance legal risks with business goals, demonstrating a strong ability to find creative, compliant pathways to achieve business objectives (finding the "yes" through risk-calibrated solutions).
• Provide expert guidance on FLSA classifications, state-specific wage and hour laws, pay transparency requirements, pay equity initiatives, and compensation practices.

Counsel – Commercial Lending & Workout

• Independently conduct comprehensive preliminary legal research and perform detailed legal analysis as requested by the legal and compliance team and other departments
• Share critical updates on major laws and regulations across various countries
• Independently review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of complex global commercial agreements and amendments
• Actively collaborate with other L&C staff and organizational partners to develop, update, and maintain sophisticated templates, playbooks, and other critical documentation
• Independently draft and manage comprehensive global brand authorization letters for import and export purposes
• Act as the primary L&C point person, providing expert legal consultation services during the establishment of new plants or facilities in countries where L&C is not yet represented

Senior Counsel – Litigation

• This role applies legal, regulatory, compliance, and financial services product expertise to support the design, maintenance, testing, and delivery of compliant Compliance Solutions products and solutions.
• The position researches and interprets federal and state legal and regulatory requirements, translates those requirements into clear product functionality, business rules, data requirements, documentation, and testing expectations, and helps ensure that products create legally enforceable instruments and support compliant use by banks, credit unions, fintechs, and other financial services clients.
• Assists in ensuring that Compliance Solutions content complies with federal laws and regulations, other governing authority requirements, and industry best practices, and that it creates enforceable legal instruments.
• Assists in ensuring that products and solutions meet or exceed the wants and needs of current and prospective clients and business partners.
• Assists in defining product functionality, including language, data, and software functionality, product/release documentation, and all business rules required by the market.
• Assists in identifying, creating and maintaining all required data including its structure and metadata, to drive compliant, warranted functionality of products that satisfies market needs and industry best practices.
• Conduct product testing and review to evaluate changes and ensure development work conforms to product requirements defined.
• Provide support for both internal and external inquiries about assigned product matters.
• Proactively educate internal staff, current and prospective business partners and clients on product design, upcoming product updates and development efforts, and industry trends.

Lending Compliance Counsel

• Gain a solid understanding of Company’s trade-compliance goals and challenges in the U.S. and internationally and support the identification and implementation of appropriate legal strategies and risk-management processes and controls to facilitate goals and minimize challenges.
• Identify, analyze, and support complex issues pertaining to U.S. trade risk, using judgment and creativity in the methods, and collaborate with team members to develop strategies for acquiring timely resolution to import/export complexities.
• Examine potential trade-compliance deficiencies and provide effective solutions to include: developing clear policies, procedures, and checklists for team and company use; drafting correspondence to government agencies; evaluating global regulatory and licensing requirements and processes; and improving business processes and trade-compliance controls.
• Advise global trade team members, product managers, sales, operations, engineering, and executives.
• Work with outside counsel in various jurisdictions on trade-compliance requirements and related company processes.
• Recognize potential trade-compliance gaps and work closely with cross-functional groups to develop and implement solutions.

• Partner with the Global Trade Compliance team on operational and strategic trade matters.

Senior Counsel, Trade Compliance

• Advise business team members on HARMAN’s automotive RFQ process
• Support resolution of commercial disputes with customers and suppliers, including management of automotive-related litigation, arbitration and mediation proceedings and guidance of external counsel
• Prepare and conduct trainings for managers and employees on relevant legal topics
