Geospatial Technical Leader – Infrastructure

• Reports to the Coordinator, Information Systems & Cartography Planning.
• Prepares, maintains, updates, manipulates and analyses the digital maps and associated databases related to the department’s Geographic Information System.
• Maintains planning related corporate spatial and tabular data and creates custom databases and thematic maps in support of special projects/reports.
• Performs quality assurance/quality control tasks to ensure data integrity.
• Maintains, updates, and analyses departmental GIS data using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
• Performs manual and automated quality assurance/quality control data validity check to ensure the integrity of data.
• Undertakes and assists in the analysis and reconciliation of conflicting data, whether from a spatial or tabular sources.
• Compiles source document work packages for data conversion.
• Assembles a wide range of data sources/types including vector, raster, CAD and imagery data for mapping and spatial analysis.
• Plots plans/maps and creates custom thematic maps, web maps, and presentation layouts using ArcGIS Pro (ESRI Suite), Microsoft Suite and/or Adobe Creative Suite to effectively convey information.
• Prepares special data reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to support planning and operational reporting and decision-making, for public and internal use.
• Develops and implements automated processes to streamline workflows as appropriate.
• Considers and implements AODA-compliant accessibility standards in data, mapping and report outputs.
• Receives and answers enquiries from staff and the public.
• Assists Planners in the preparation of reports and presentations.
• Assists with the creation and maintenance of custom applications.
• Follows the established request management practices and procedures.
• Assists in the development and review of procedures.
• Demonstrates system functions and workflow procedures.
• Provides software support for geo-spatial applications.
• Identifies and assists in the resolution of problems related to geo-spatial software, geo-spatial data and the department’s Geographic Information System as a whole.

GIS Planning Technician

• Reporting to the Coordinator, Information Systems & Cartography Planning, the Cartographic GIS Technician performs digitizing, map compilation and data management associated with internal applications and the preparation of Planning related maps (digital and print), plans, reports, and other promotional materials.
• Prepares, designs, produces, maintains, and updates maps and overlays using the ESRI suite and other tools.
• Recommends cartographic techniques and specifications to meet request requirements.
• Performs a range of GIS/Cartographic services related to Planning & Development applications including georeferencing, labelling, and the preparation of illustrative materials such as concept drawings, and mapping to assist in understanding development applications, site descriptions and site plan reviews.
• Reviews and interprets aerial photos, legal surveys, sketches and planning/development related notes for the creation and production of mapping used for various purposes such as presentations and public notice advertisements.
• Operates and performs preventative maintenance on specialized large-scale plotters, photocopiers and scanners.
• Creates and maintains GIS datasets for Official Plan schedules, Zoning By-laws, heritage designations, Committee of Adjustments, addressing etc.
• Performs GIS spatial analysis and attribute functions as appropriate.
• Receives and responds to inquiries from internal/external clients, including the delivery of standard and custom maps, and other related products.
• Creates presentation materials supporting agenda items for Economic Development and Planning Committee meetings.
• Manipulates 2D/3D computer generated models for specialized projects.
• Creates and prepares exhibits for Ontario Land Tribunal hearings.
• Designs and creates display panels and presentation materials for public engagement events.
• Follows the established request management practices and procedures.

Cartographic GIS Technician

• Help drive geospatial data requirements for a large-scale project
• Be part of a team of GIS developers responsible for acquiring and preparing geospatial data
• Research and collect data for specific regions
• Use open-source tools to preprocess and align data

Senior GIS Developer

• Drive geospatial data and tooling needs for a large-scale project
• Source geospatial data in many modalities
• Build geospatial data automation and tooling in an AI/ML pipeline for new applications
• Research and gather data for specific regions from different sources
• Manage the coverage, freshness, quality, and cost of sourced data
• Build and use automated tools to prepare data for AI/ML use
• Collaborate with AI/ML teams and Pipeline and Product teams

GIS Developer – Staff level

• Be based within the Western Ontario (Windsor, Niagara Falls, Mississauga, Kitchener, Waterloo, London, Sarnia, etc.).
• Be following trends in the industry market and discovering leads.
• Perform sales presentations, on-site demonstrations, and cold calling throughout your territory.
• Maintain existing customer/volume base through regular customer contact, monitoring, and development.
• Provide excellent customer service to key accounts.
• Meet all sales target performance indicators.
• Participate in trade shows, training events, or other related events as requested and required.
• Provide reports to the Sales Manager on activity and new pipelines.

Account Manager – Geospatial

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients
• The territory covers Western Canada - Greater Vancouver Area or Calgary, with travel required at least one week per month.

Junior Geomatics Technician

• Provide GIS & Remote Sensing support to internal departments & external customers.

• Support design, configuration and mobile data capture processes using desktop, web, and mobile applications, including GPS technology and Drones.
