About the role
- Deliver timely, executive‑ready monthly, quarterly and annual expense reports and presentations with clear insights and commentary
- Communicate financial insights clearly and confidently to senior leaders to inform decisions and align on strategic priorities
- Build and run a performance‑management framework to track progress against financial goals, including OIE/NWP and ROI metrics
- Lead and support operating, strategic and profitability reviews for the business unit; surface actions and ensure follow‑through
- Manage investment spend across CAPEX and OPEX, align with asset lifecycles and ensure correct classification and compliance
- Perform detailed financial analysis to identify trends, risks and opportunities; translate analysis into actionable recommendations
- Define data requirements and perform complex analyses to support cross‑functional initiatives, projects and ad hoc requests
- Partner with peers to provide data‑driven insights for operating expense optimisation and to unlock efficiencies.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including Associate Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
- AN MBA and/or CPA designation is preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of insurance (P&C/Life business) expense drivers and unit economics
- Expertise in analytics, cost‑benefit analysis and automation of non‑value‑add tasks
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; proven analytical problem solving and the ability to synthesise complex data
- Experience with ERP/planning tools (SAP/Oracle/Anaplan) and Coupa; comfortable driving tool and process enhancements
- Strong understanding of IFRS standards and investment accounting (CAPEX/OPEX/amortization)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management; ability to influence without authority and collaborate across functions
- Detail oriented, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
