About the role
- Design, build, and maintain automated tests across web and API platforms.
- Contribute to test strategy, coverage analysis, and risk assessment for product releases.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, leveraging GitHub Actions to improve reliability and feedback cycles.
- Actively participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives to ensure quality is embedded early in development.
- Collaborate with software engineers to implement shift-left testing practices and improve testability.
- Perform thorough code reviews for test scripts and promote best practices in automation.
- Investigate defects, identify root causes, and partner with engineering teams on preventive solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and processes that enhance testing efficiency.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation related to testing frameworks and processes.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience in software quality engineering with a strong focus on automation.
- Proven hands-on experience building or enhancing automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, specifically with **GitHub Actions**.
- Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript).
- Solid experience with API testing (REST/GraphQL) and related tools.
- Experience participating in **Agile ceremonies**, including sprint planning and backlog grooming.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test design, and defect management.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills when debugging complex application issues.
- Must be located in Latam.
- Nice to Have
- Experience with performance or load testing tools (k6, JMeter, Gatling, Locust).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Knowledge of security testing fundamentals or tools.
- Experience testing microservices or distributed architectures.
