About the role

  • Design, build, and maintain automated tests across web and API platforms.
  • Contribute to test strategy, coverage analysis, and risk assessment for product releases.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, leveraging GitHub Actions to improve reliability and feedback cycles.
  • Actively participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives to ensure quality is embedded early in development.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to implement shift-left testing practices and improve testability.
  • Perform thorough code reviews for test scripts and promote best practices in automation.
  • Investigate defects, identify root causes, and partner with engineering teams on preventive solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and processes that enhance testing efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation related to testing frameworks and processes.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in software quality engineering with a strong focus on automation.
  • Proven hands-on experience building or enhancing automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, specifically with **GitHub Actions**.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript).
  • Solid experience with API testing (REST/GraphQL) and related tools.
  • Experience participating in **Agile ceremonies**, including sprint planning and backlog grooming.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test design, and defect management.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills when debugging complex application issues.
  • Must be located in Latam.
  • Nice to Have
  • Experience with performance or load testing tools (k6, JMeter, Gatling, Locust).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Knowledge of security testing fundamentals or tools.
  • Experience testing microservices or distributed architectures.
