Job Level

About the role

  • Lead the vision, strategy, and end-to-end execution of Zip's owned event portfolio, managing the full lifecycle from concept and creative direction through production planning, agency management, budget ownership, on-site execution, and post-event analysis.
  • Identify, design, and execute one-off brand moments: pop-ups, immersive activations, and in-market stunts that stop people in their tracks, generate earned media, drive social amplification, and create genuine cultural relevance.
  • Build and own Zip's brand event calendar, designing the tentpole moments that anchor our broader field marketing and third-party event strategy.
  • Own the end-to-end promotional strategy for each event across digital and physical channels, including email, social, paid media, sponsorships, direct physical invitations, and event websites.
  • Serve as the connective tissue across brand, product marketing, corporate messaging, design, lifecycle, field marketing, sales, and customer success. Manage high-caliber event production agencies and creative vendors to execute at the highest level.

Requirements

  • 7+ years leading brand events, experiential marketing, or creative event programs, ideally within a high-growth SaaS, tech, or consumer company
  • Proven track record producing large-scale conferences, executive summits, and flagship owned events with real community and business impact
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets with financial rigor, strong vendor relationships, and disciplined ROI thinking
  • Comfortable building and scaling programs in fast-moving environments without a large team or established playbook
  • Ability to travel quarterly for on-site event execution
  • A strong, distinctive creative point of view — you know what makes an event feel like a brand moment rather than a boring corporate conference, and you fight for that standard
  • Exceptional content and narrative instincts: you can shape event themes, speaker programs, and onstage storytelling that move audiences
  • Experience directing production designers, spatial designers, and creative vendors to execute ambitious concepts on budget
  • A genuine obsession with culture, aesthetics, and community, and a portfolio that shows it
  • Strong project management discipline with tight timelines, clear stakeholder communications, and structured post-mortems
  • Experience building event measurement frameworks that track brand sentiment, pipeline influence, ROI, and customer engagement
  • Highly cross-functional by nature, skilled at driving alignment without formal authority.
