About the role
- Regulatory liaison and advising the site on local, regional, and national laws related to EHS objectives, and collaborating with members of the global EHS team
- Supporting the site in establishing systems to achieve and maintain compliance/certifications, including conducting internal EHS audits
- Day-to-day EHS support for the plant (e.g., plant approvals, machine safety, hazardous substance management, workplace condition monitoring, organizing EHS Kaizen events with staff, etc.)
- Overseeing facility management
- Reporting on EHS performance and issues, and developing corrective actions
- Delivering EHS training ranging from new-employee inductions and required regulatory topics to regular refreshers for managers, BBS coaches, etc.
- Preparing for and participating in regular EHS meetings and EHS management reviews with plant leadership and corporate EHS
- Developing and maintaining EHS procedures, work instructions, guidance materials, etc.
- Promoting and further developing the safety culture at the plant through interaction with employees at all levels
Requirements
- University degree or completed vocational training with relevant professional experience
- At least 5–7 years of professional experience in a similar role, preferably in an industrial environment
- Experience implementing and managing EHS management system requirements and certification standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001)
- Basic legal knowledge in environmental, occupational, and health protection
- Qualification as a safety specialist
- Strong communication skills and excellent written and spoken German and English.
