About the role
- Lead the Platform Engineering and Developer Experience agenda as a top priority for the tribe, creating the foundation for sustainable product scaling.
- Structure and evolve an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) with self-service capabilities for creating services, environments, templates and golden paths.
- Reduce friction in the development lifecycle (build, testing, deployment, rollback, documentation and onboarding), increasing squads' autonomy.
- Define and track productivity and delivery quality metrics (lead time, deployment frequency, change failure rate and MTTR), turning data into continuous improvement.
- Define and evolve the tribe's technical strategy, connecting engineering decisions to business impact.
- Ensure a high-performance environment with psychological safety, frequent feedback, effective rituals and continuous improvement.
- Increase speed with quality by evolving delivery practices, testing, observability and automation.
- Orchestrate the resolution of complex technical problems and reduce the frequency/impact of critical incidents.
- Guide prioritization of initiatives based on OKRs and KPIs, aligning technical effort to value creation.
- Establish security and compliance guardrails within the delivery flow without compromising velocity.
- Actively participate in architecture and software design decisions, contributing to technical documentation and sustainable standards.
- Strengthen a scalable, resilient, and user-centered distributed architecture.
Requirements
- Mandatory qualifications:
- Consistent experience in leading and managing engineering teams in a startup or high-velocity environment.
- Proven track record working with cross-functional teams to build digital products.
- Hands-on experience leading Platform Engineering and Developer Experience initiatives that delivered real productivity gains.
- People management experience: 1:1s, career development, feedback culture and building leadership.
- Experience evolving team processes: agile methods, development lifecycle, quality and operations.
- Ability to define and operate engineering metrics (such as DORA), using indicators for prioritization and continuous improvement.
- Ability to balance strategic vision and execution while maintaining focus on impact, quality and predictability.
- Hands-on profile when needed, with sufficient technical depth to support critical decisions.
- Nice to have (not mandatory):
- Previous experience as an individual technical contributor in complex environments.
- Experience building and tracking technical OKRs.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or similar), containers and orchestration (such as Kubernetes).
- Led AI-driven productivity programs in the SDLC with responsible adoption (quality, security, cost and governance).
- Experience using AI to accelerate PR review, generate/refine tests, produce technical documentation and support incident response.
