About the role

  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date employee records in the HR system.
  • Coordinate onboarding tasks to ensure day 1 readiness, including right‑to‑work checks, DBS checks, and occupational health clearances.
  • Process employee lifecycle changes such as promotions, contractual amendments, salary updates, working pattern changes, and absences.
  • Support offboarding processes and ensure timely completion of documentation and system updates.
  • Produce HR reports and workforce metrics as required.
  • Prepare HR correspondence and ensure documents are stored in line with GDPR and retention policies.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for routine HR and payroll queries.
  • Signpost employees and managers to HR policies and self‑service tools.
  • Escalate complex, sensitive, or non‑routine matters to the Head of HR.
  • Maintain payroll related employee data to support monthly payroll.
  • Review payroll information and liaise with the payroll provider to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
  • Ensure changes comply with payroll cut‑off dates and internal controls.
  • Provide administrative support for HR projects, training, audits, and ongoing initiatives.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR administrative processes.

Requirements

  • Strong administrative experience in a busy office environment.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy especially when working with employee or payroll data.
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills.
  • Discretion and integrity when handling confidential information.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience in HR or HR/payroll administration (Desirable).
  • Familiarity with HR systems integrated with payroll such as SuccessFactors or SAP (Desirable).
  • Understanding of UK employment legislation (Desirable).
