About the role

  • Coordinate and prepare General Ledger data uploads for sales tax compliance; review variances and resolve outstanding items
  • Manage journal entries, account reconciliations, and AP payment requests
  • Track license renewals and maintain accurate records in Excel
  • Acquire and maintain business licenses; resolve licensing issues with internal/external partners and jurisdictions
  • Apply for sales tax registrations and ensure correct rates across locations
  • Prepare periodic Open/Close Store reports and process tax/license notices and documentation requests
  • Support special projects and partner inquiries as needed
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Shared Services (Tax Compliance, AP, AR, Lease, and Project Costing), Corporate Tax, Brand Legal, Development, Payroll Tax, Brand Reporting, and Finance
  • Work closely with third-party vendors, state and local taxing authorities, and business licensing offices
  • Provide outstanding customer service to internal stakeholders and external suppliers and service providers

Requirements

  • Associates degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines while handling or escalating conflicting priorities in a very fast paced and high-volume environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and drive change
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/business/finance (preferred)
  • Strong systems and software aptitude (JD Edwards, Reports Now, and Oracle) (preferred)
  • Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills (preferred)
