Oversee and assume ownership of the indirect tax processes and compliance for global indirect taxes (primarily value-added tax and goods & services tax with exposure to sales and use tax)
Support implementing the medium and long-term global indirect tax strategy and objectives
Assist Senior Manager of Indirect Tax and VP of Tax in tax planning initiatives and special projects
Provide analysis of specific indirect tax impacts of certain company transactions
Coordinate and support indirect tax audit-responses
Maintain technical proficiency by keeping informed of tax-technical developments, industry trends and indirect tax legislative changes including communicating those changes to key stakeholders and ensuring compliance
Proactively identify, recommend, and implement process and tax systems improvements for indirect taxes, including automation opportunities
Responsible for identifying and implementing indirect tax related (optimization) opportunities
Support the local Finance Business Partner and the accounting team in the Shared Services Center during audit procedures
Taking responsibility and ownership of the relationship at appropriate levels in the organization
Manage relationships with external advisors
Working knowledge of Avalara and familiarity with ERP systems such as Netsuite
Requirements
5+ years of global indirect tax experience (value-added tax and goods & services tax)
Fluent understanding of indirect tax and compliance issues
Working knowledge in the management of indirect tax audit processes
Experience in tax control issues and process redesign to facilitate compliance with internal control requirements
Advanced degree or professional certification in taxation is preferred
Big Four experience preferred
Experience with tax technology and ERP systems (e.g., Avalara, NetSuite)
Experience in process improvement and automation initiatives within tax compliance
Bachelor Degree in Accounting preferred
Master degree in in Taxation preferred
Fluency in English is required; other relevant languages would be an advantage
