About the role
- Serve as a legal liaison with public authorities, participating in hearings and sessions and advising requesting departments to act in compliance with applicable legislation and tax regulations.
- Support the formalization of the company's contractual relationships by drafting contract documents and responses to public authorities, ensuring adherence to compliance rules and mitigation of tax risks.
- Assist in negotiating third-party contracts by providing technical review of draft agreements and contributing to the mitigation of legal and tax risks, in alignment with the company’s internal policies.
- Prepare responses to legal and tax inquiries, providing the information and documents necessary for the company’s judicial and administrative actions, and interfacing with external law firms.
- Manage the resolution of proceedings before public agencies, including tax matters, preparing and reviewing documents such as powers of attorney, unilateral agreements, etc.
- Continuously monitor changes in tax legislation and the latest jurisprudential developments, ensuring compliance and advising internal areas on regulatory impacts.
- Manage the company’s trademark and patent registrations, mediate negotiations with clients and suppliers, and implement preventive measures to avoid unnecessary litigation.
- Draft and review contracts, powers of attorney, declarations, drafts and other documents related to the company’s legal and tax relationships, representing the company in actions, hearings, proceedings and trials.
- Provide preventive guidance to internal areas on tax impacts of operations and contracts, support the structuring of tax planning and the interpretation of tax rules, ensuring legal certainty and tax efficiency.
- Support the management of administrative and judicial tax proceedings, prepare defenses and appeals, assist in managing tax liabilities, and negotiate debts with public authorities.
- Support the implementation of internal controls and corporate governance policies, ensuring traceability, contingency prevention and compliance with regulatory and tax rules.
- Support the legal department’s institutional communication by producing content and executive reports that reinforce the company’s image as a reference in compliance and legal responsibility; develop guidance materials and internal campaigns on legal and tax topics, promoting a culture of prevention and compliance.
- Understand and apply practices of responsible consumption and natural resource preservation in accordance with the company’s HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) policies, understanding environmental impacts and risks and emergency response procedures.
Requirements
- Law degree (required).
- Mandatory registration with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is desirable.
