About the role
- Train clients to be independent with the goal of job acquisition, successful community integration, goal setting, and job readiness
- Understand how to implement person-centered planning
- Act as a program monitor to assigned clients, providing advocacy as needed
- Maintain a professional relationship with family members, employers, and funding sources
- Develop and implement instructional plans, social skill training and provide interventions as needed
- Complete all required documentation and reports
- Maintain complete and accurate case files
- Ensure compliance with safety and confidentiality
- Acts as a mandated abuse reporter
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year of related experience working with adults with developmental disabilities
- CPR and First Aid certifications, or willing to obtain within first 30 days of employment
- Must have a good working knowledge and experience in Microsoft WORD and Excel
- Must be willing to learn new skills
- Ability to understand and relate to individuals with disabilities, their families, the community
- Ability to observe, evaluate, document, and communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to teach good work habits and social skills to individuals with developmental disabilities in a variety of settings
- Ability to be flexible with scheduling and prioritization of tasks
- Must pass CHP VDDP, Drug/Alcohol Test, Background
