About the role
- Manage, implement, verify SHEQ profile, culture, systems, and policies of Xylem
- Manage all SHEQ activities within the department including quality plans for all raw materials, parts and finished products
- Manage all SHEQ activities related to production & service within and outside the facility
- Responsible for efficient and effective implementation of response processes to customers in terms of technical inquiries and support
- Develop and implement SHEQ Strategic and Operational plans
- Manage HSE Management systems for Southern Africa
- Ensure compliance with the provisions of HSE management systems and policies within Xylem
- Ensure safe operation of each area and compliance with HSE regulations
- Document and review risk assessments
- Maintain the accident record book through accurate EHS metrics and timely reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or equivalent qualification in Safety, Health, Environment or Quality
- Post graduate management qualification or equivalent will be desirable
- SAMTRAC or equivalent
- ISO 45001 internal auditor
- ISO 14001 internal auditor
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a SHEQ management role and business support services with at least 5 years in a SHEQ team management role
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or water infrastructure environment will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of and competence in the provision of SHEQ management services
- Knowledge and competence in the development and implementation of behavioral based safety programs and process safety programs
- Ability to read and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.
