Provide technical leadership and execution oversight for enterprise database platforms across OCI and GCP
Stabilize, modernize, and scale database platforms while guiding database engineering teams and stakeholders
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of database systems that provide reliability, performance, and availability
Drive database platform strategy across: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Stabilize and optimize production and non-production database environments
Lead incident response, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and remediation efforts
Improve reliability, performance, and cost efficiency
Lead improvements through: Automation and self-service provisioning, Runbook creation & proactive monitoring, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Requirements

10+ years in Infrastructure & Database Engineering, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role
Strong technical database engineering expertise in large scale environments
Hands-on experience with OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure), GCP, and its unique networking/storage constructs
Deep understanding of Firestore (collections, sub-collections, security rules) and Redis (data types, persistence models, and sentinel/cluster modes)
Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code
Experience with database migration from on-prem to cloud
Experience leading database modernization and cloud migration initiatives
Strong automation and IaC skills
Familiarity with DevOps / SRE operating models
Master’s degree
