About the role

  • Train and refine xAI's Grok to understand and generate high-quality web aesthetics, layouts, and user interfaces.
  • Use proprietary software to provide labels, annotations, and inputs on projects involving web layouts, visual elements, and design principles.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality curated data that ensures aesthetically pleasing and functional outputs.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to develop tasks that improve AI's ability to handle web design concepts and best practices.
  • Work with technical staff to improve annotation tools for efficient workflows.
  • Contribute directly to the company mission, be hands-on, and share knowledge with teammates through concise communication.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated high proficiency in Graphic Design, Web Development, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in web design, with a demonstrated high taste for aesthetics and website creation.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing web design projects, highlighting visual appeal, user experience, and innovative layouts.
  • Proficiency in evaluating design elements, such as color theory, typography, responsiveness, and UI/UX standards.
  • Strong ability to reference design tools, trends, and resources for accurate annotations and critiques.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, creative, and analytical skills.
  • Commitment to developing AI that excels in web aesthetics and design simulation.
  • Preferred: Advanced experience in UI/UX design, front-end development, or roles at design agencies or technology companies.
  • Location & other: Position based in Palo Alto, CA or fully remote; Palo Alto option requires in-office 5 days/week; remote positions require strong self-motivation.
  • If based in the US, cannot hire candidates in Wyoming or Illinois.
  • We are unable to provide visa sponsorship.
  • Team members are expected to work from 9:00am - 5:30pm PST for the first two weeks of training and 9:00am - 5:30pm in their own timezone thereafter.
  • For personal device use, computer must be a Chromebook, Mac with MacOS 11.0 or later, or Windows 10 or later.
  • You must own and have reliable access to a smartphone.
