About the role

  • Work actively with patients with substance use disorders who are enrolled in RNl's research studies
  • Provide mentoring through life-experience to individuals experiencing substance use problems
  • Assist research team in recruitment, monitoring, and follow up of research participants
  • Develop individualized plans with patients and monitor those wellness plans
  • Link patients to available resources
  • Maintain working relationships with Chestnut Ridge, ED and CHH staff and other agencies or institutions
  • Receive on-going supervision and training in order to provide recovery coaching services
  • Assist patients in crisis situations involving social, emotional, health, and other problems

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • A minimum of one (1) year of related experience
  • West Virginia state and Federal criminal background check required for DHHR WV CARES regulated area
  • Knowledge of treatment resources including a working knowledge of the 12-Step Fellowships
  • Ability to comply with WVU Medicine, UHA, and Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry safety procedures
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and families
  • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution
  • Ability to develop specific goals and plans, to prioritize, organize and accomplish tasks independently and through others
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications: Word and Excel
