About the role
- Work actively with patients with substance use disorders who are enrolled in RNl's research studies
- Provide mentoring through life-experience to individuals experiencing substance use problems
- Assist research team in recruitment, monitoring, and follow up of research participants
- Develop individualized plans with patients and monitor those wellness plans
- Link patients to available resources
- Maintain working relationships with Chestnut Ridge, ED and CHH staff and other agencies or institutions
- Receive on-going supervision and training in order to provide recovery coaching services
- Assist patients in crisis situations involving social, emotional, health, and other problems
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- A minimum of one (1) year of related experience
- West Virginia state and Federal criminal background check required for DHHR WV CARES regulated area
- Knowledge of treatment resources including a working knowledge of the 12-Step Fellowships
- Ability to comply with WVU Medicine, UHA, and Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry safety procedures
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and families
- Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution
- Ability to develop specific goals and plans, to prioritize, organize and accomplish tasks independently and through others
- Knowledge of basic computer applications: Word and Excel
