About the role

  • Execute the day-to-day power supply and demand management activities necessary for both the existing regional business and the launch and stable operation of the new out-of-area retail business, including demand forecasting, generation planning, and electricity trading
  • Conduct actual electricity trading on JEPX (Spot, Intraday, etc.) and perform real-time monitoring and adjustment to effectively manage and minimize imbalance exposure across the entire portfolio (in-area and out-of-area)
  • Support the regulatory compliance efforts, including preparing necessary documentation for the acquisition and maintenance of licenses related to the ongoing operation and expansion of the business (EBA, OCCTO, etc.)
  • External Customer Operations & Care: Manage the operational onboarding of new external customers (switching process), ensuring accurate registration with OCCTO. Act as the primary operational point of contact for customer inquiries regarding usage data and billing.
  • Sales Support & Data Analysis: Support business development activities by preparing electricity usage simulations, cost estimates, and supply-demand balance reports required for sales proposals
  • Billing & Settlement Operations: Oversee the calculation of electricity charges for external customers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in billing processes. Coordinate with finance teams for payment reconciliation.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of practical experience in daily electricity supply and demand management, including in-house demand forecasting, generation planning, JEPX trading, and OCCTO plan submission
  • Direct experience in JEPX actual trading (Spot/Intraday) and real-time monitoring for imbalance management
  • Knowledge of and practical experience using Energy Management System (EMS) software or related supply & demand optimization tools
  • Knowledge of Japanese electricity markets and regulations, including energy services business (Ancillary Services / Capacity Market)
  • Experience supporting compliance efforts related to the EBA and OCCTO submissions for existing operations
  • Experience in electricity retail operations (CIS operation, switching procedures, billing calculation) or sales support in the energy sector
  • Ability to analyze customer load data and create simple visualizations or reports for external stakeholders
  • English : Daily Conversation
