About the role

  • Act as a trusted legal advisor to internal stakeholders and business leaders, providing clear, pragmatic guidance focused on business needs
  • Provide expertise and counsel on data protection, compliance, and regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions
  • Support corporate legal matters, including corporate governance and strategic initiatives
  • Support commercial legal operations, including drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts (customer agreements, supplier contracts, and partnerships)
  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to ensure consistency, efficiency, and sound risk management
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal processes, templates, and internal documentation
  • Help strengthen a proactive, solutions-focused legal approach across the organization.

Requirements

  • Law degree (LL.B. or J.D.) and active membership in the Barreau du Québec for at least 10 years
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive legal experience, with strong expertise in: Corporate law, Compliance, and Data protection; Asset: Employment/labor law
  • Ability to go beyond pure legal interpretation to provide pragmatic, business-oriented advice
  • High degree of autonomy and excellent judgment, with the ability to make decisions confidently
  • Excellent communication skills, able to clearly explain complex legal issues in plain language
  • Experience in a SaaS or technology environment is a major asset
  • Knowledge of data protection frameworks such as the GDPR and other international regulations, as well as intellectual property issues, is a significant asset.
