About the role

  • Direct NY WFP’s Electoral Program, setting statewide objectives and ensuring accountability for results.
  • Oversee allocation of staff resources, budgets, and data management for statewide and regional electoral programs.
  • Maintain oversight of campaign and data vendor relationships, ensuring tools and systems are optimized for field operations.
  • Co-lead statewide strategic planning in collaboration with the State Director and national leadership, aligning New York’s initiatives with WFP’s broader mission.
  • Design and implement strategies related to membership, organizing, and electoral programs that advance long-term party-building goals.
  • Develop and oversee public WFP events that build the party’s profile and highlight steering committee leaders, elected officials and member representatives.
  • Design and maintain systems for campaign planning, data tracking, and rapid response to emerging political opportunities.
  • Establish protocols for evaluating project outcomes and integrating lessons learned into future plans.
  • Implement communication and coordination systems that ensure effective collaboration across statewide teams.
  • Supervise and mentor members of the New York team, providing strategic direction and performance oversight.
  • Facilitate effective team meetings, retreats, and planning sessions to align goals and priorities.
  • Lead and manage seasonal organizing teams that expand capacity during electoral campaigns.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to all staff, ensuring clarity of purpose and alignment with organizational values.
  • Develop individualized work plans and professional development pathways for staff that reflect both party goals and staff growth.
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative team culture that prioritizes creativity, accountability, and excellence.
  • Co-manage New York’s finances and budget with the State Director, providing oversight of resource allocation and program spending
  • Ensure programmatic and electoral priorities are reflected in fundraising goals in partnership with the Director of Development
  • Lead statewide independent or coordinated electoral programs during election cycles.
  • Lead or guide regional priority campaigns with regional organizers
  • Direct special election campaigns, including staffing, field operations, and communications efforts
  • Ensure compliance with campaign finance and state election laws.
  • Ensure staff have the tools and systems necessary to execute their work effectively and efficiently

Requirements

  • 10+ year experience in electoral organizing, including field strategy and campaign management
  • 5+ years of supervising organizers and campaign staff with a strong track record in training, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated expertise in organizing within multiracial working-class communities, with a proven ability to align and integrate party values across all facets of operations, program, electoral campaigns, and messaging
  • Proven success in leading complex projects, including goal-setting, strategic planning, and the effective use of project management tools and best practices to achieve impactful outcomes
