About the role
- Lead the implementation and execution of the Advanced Work Packaging methodology across assigned projects
- Define and enforce AWP standards, workflows, templates, and governance models
- Ensure alignment of AWP execution with project objectives, construction strategy, and safety goals
- Serve as the subject matter expert for AWP best practices and industry standards
- Act as the business owner and lead administrator for AWP software platforms
- Define system configuration, data standards, user roles, and governance rules
- Ensure integration of AWP software with engineering models, schedules, procurement systems, and project controls tools
- Drive system adoption through training, user support, and continuous improvement
- Partner with IT and software vendors to manage enhancements, upgrades, and issue resolution
- Oversee the development of Engineering Work Packages (EWPs), Construction Work Packages (CWPs), and Installation Work Packages (IWPs)
- Ensure work packages are properly sequenced, constraint-free, and construction-ready
- Validate that scope, materials, drawings, permits, and resources are aligned prior to execution
- Support field teams with look-ahead planning and workface planning integration
- Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Planning, and Project Controls teams
- Ensure procurement and material readiness align with AWP execution plans
- Support schedule development and progress measurement tied to IWPs and CWPs
- Facilitate AWP planning workshops and alignment sessions
- Lead AWP training programs for project teams, contractors, and partners
- Coach field and office teams on AWP principles, workflows, and system usage
- Track AWP performance metrics including readiness, productivity, schedule adherence, and execution efficiency
- Develop dashboards and reports using AWP software data
- Identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities in planning and execution
- Capture lessons learned and standardize improvements across projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience in industrial or large-scale construction projects
- Strong working knowledge of Advanced Work Packaging principles and lifecycle
- Hands-on experience leading AWP execution on active projects
- Experience managing or administering AWP software platforms
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, planning, and workface execution
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive process adoption
- Authorization to work lawfully in the US, without sponsorship from Wood is required.
