About the role
- Manage all aspects of indirect tax compliance and advisory support for Canadian operations, including GST/HST, PST, and US sales and use tax compliance.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax returns and provide advice on technical matters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams globally to harness data, streamline processes, and drive business strategy.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree, preferably with an emphasis on accounting, finance or law
- Completion of one of the CPA, CPA In-depth Tax Course, MTax, LLM.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in indirect tax, preferably in a multinational or Big 4 environment.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian GST/HST, PST, and customs regulations.
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably Oracle) and tax technology tools.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage complex projects and deadlines.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Familiarity with U.S. sales tax and global VAT/GST is an asset.
- Experience with other Canadian taxes helpful but not essential.
- Innovate and forward thinking with a keen interest in AI and emerging technologies
