About the role

  • Manage all aspects of indirect tax compliance and advisory support for Canadian operations, including GST/HST, PST, and US sales and use tax compliance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax returns and provide advice on technical matters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams globally to harness data, streamline processes, and drive business strategy.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably with an emphasis on accounting, finance or law
  • Completion of one of the CPA, CPA In-depth Tax Course, MTax, LLM.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in indirect tax, preferably in a multinational or Big 4 environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian GST/HST, PST, and customs regulations.
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably Oracle) and tax technology tools.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and deadlines.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Familiarity with U.S. sales tax and global VAT/GST is an asset.
  • Experience with other Canadian taxes helpful but not essential.
  • Innovate and forward thinking with a keen interest in AI and emerging technologies
  • Effectively connect and establish effective, cross-cultural working relationships with all levels of the organisation in multiple jurisdictions
