About the role
- Prepare and file intermediate-level 1041 and 1099 tax returns and documentation
- Maintain comprehensive and updated tax records
- Assist in the preparation of tax estimates and forecasts
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary data for tax filings
- Review and ensure accuracy in tax calculations and submissions
- Conduct research on current tax laws and regulations
- Respond to more tax inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
- Identify and address discrepancies in tax documentation
Requirements
- Degree in accounting or taxation, preferred
- 2+ years’ experience preparing and reviewing trust tax returns 1041 experience highly preferred
- Strong understanding of trust tax return concepts
- Extensive usage of tax software, preferably CCH
- Public accounting and/or bank/trust background
- Enrolled Agent, CPA a plus.
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies
- Strong PC and business software application skills, including Microsoft Office Suite - Excel
