About the role
- Sell electronic access to journals, books, databases, data licenses and software tools to for-profit corporations (CROs, pharma, medical device)
- Call on Librarians, Information Scientists, Heads of Global Regulatory Affairs, Directors of Medical Affairs, C-suite
- Expand customer base and grow existing accounts
- Manage territory covering corporate customers in Eastern United States
- Demonstrate Ovid’s suite of products
- Plan, organize and implement sales strategy
- Maintain retention and prospect new business
- Prepare proposals and provide terms of sales and delivery dates
- Provide weekly forecast updates to Director of Sales
- Regular travel within territory and required customer-facing activity each month (~25%)
- Achieve sales objectives for territory
- Attend regional/national trade shows occasionally and company sales meetings
- Maintain and update Salesforce.com daily
- Work with Inside Sales Representative to ensure renewals and identify up-sell
- Weekly calls with director to discuss forecast and pipeline
- Responsible for maintenance and growth of $7 million territory of for-profit companies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; MBA preferred
- 5+ years of related sales and account management experience
- Proven track record selling into pharmaceutical and medical device companies, and CROs (preferred)
- Excellent Communication (both oral and written) and presentation skills
- Self-starter with ability to manage own territory
- Exceptional Drive, Solution Selling experience
- Experience selling into the C-suite
- Competitive spirit, positive attitude
- Ability to travel up to 35%
