About the role

  • Lead the strategy, design, and delivery of enterprise-scale data platforms and governance frameworks
  • Transform data into a strategic asset to enable advanced analytics, AI initiatives, regulatory reporting, and informed business decision-making
  • Define and lead scalable, cloud-based data architectures
  • Design and maintain data pipelines for P&C insurance datasets
  • Implement modern cloud-native technologies
  • Oversee end-to-end development of high-performance data pipelines
  • Implement enterprise-wide data governance, metadata management, master data management, and data lineage standards
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, and Audit teams to ensure adherence to regulations
  • Guide data modelling for underwriting, pricing, claims, renewals, actuarial models, and regulatory reporting
  • Lead and mentor cross-functional teams of data engineers, architects, quality engineers, and analysts

Requirements

  • More than 14 years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Management
  • At least 5 years in leadership roles
  • Strong experience in the Lloyd’s Market or UK Insurance domain
  • Hands-on expertise in SQL, Python, PySpark, APIs, and cloud data platforms
  • Deep knowledge of Azure Data Services, Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, Kafka, or similar technologies
  • Strong capabilities in data governance, regulatory reporting, enterprise data ecosystems, team leadership, budget management, and stakeholder communication
