About the role
- Lead the strategy, design, and delivery of enterprise-scale data platforms and governance frameworks
- Transform data into a strategic asset to enable advanced analytics, AI initiatives, regulatory reporting, and informed business decision-making
- Define and lead scalable, cloud-based data architectures
- Design and maintain data pipelines for P&C insurance datasets
- Implement modern cloud-native technologies
- Oversee end-to-end development of high-performance data pipelines
- Implement enterprise-wide data governance, metadata management, master data management, and data lineage standards
- Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, and Audit teams to ensure adherence to regulations
- Guide data modelling for underwriting, pricing, claims, renewals, actuarial models, and regulatory reporting
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams of data engineers, architects, quality engineers, and analysts
Requirements
- More than 14 years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Management
- At least 5 years in leadership roles
- Strong experience in the Lloyd’s Market or UK Insurance domain
- Hands-on expertise in SQL, Python, PySpark, APIs, and cloud data platforms
- Deep knowledge of Azure Data Services, Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, Kafka, or similar technologies
- Strong capabilities in data governance, regulatory reporting, enterprise data ecosystems, team leadership, budget management, and stakeholder communication
