About the role
- Design and detailing of railroad and highway structures
- Performing complex engineering tasks accurately
- Extract engineering information from CAD drawings
- Develop drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes
- Lead the structural design of projects and mentor entry-level staff in the design and production of construction drawings
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Master's degree is a plus) from an ABET accredited school
- 7+ years of experience in structural engineering design including bridge, retaining wall and other transportation structures; the ideal candidate having 10 or more years of experience
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of California or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Experience in plan development, analysis and design calculations, quality control of highway structures and/or railroad structures, and familiarity with AASHTO and/or AREMA
- Experience in using software like Leap Bridge Concrete, MDX, MIDAS, Risa, Lpile, Mathcad and other related engineering software to design structural elements of bridges
