About the role

  • Leading and overseeing a portfolio of enterprise healthcare and medical device client retainers and projects, including high-value engagements
  • Developing and implementing data-driven strategic initiatives that deliver meaningful business value, with the ability to articulate digital strategy's connection to broader business objectives and revenue impact
  • Creating integrated digital strategies that align organic search efforts with paid media performance, enabling the Digital Advertising team to maximize campaign effectiveness
  • Managing strategic initiatives across international markets and multi-language properties
  • Leading AI monitoring and optimization efforts to keep clients ahead of the evolving search landscape
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities to recommend new avenues of support to existing clients in a helpful and thoughtful manner
  • Mentoring colleagues through training and knowledge sharing activities, contributing to building team capabilities
  • Coordinating communication across the practice and company relating to clients' digital strategy
  • Cultivating deep, multifaceted relationships with key stakeholders at healthcare client organizations, becoming their trusted advisor for strategic website initiatives and leading executive-level conversations independently
  • Overseeing international SEO strategies, in partnership with others on the DS team and across the organization
  • Regularly monitor client performance, conduct technical SEO audits, and participate in Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)
  • Lead weekly client calls and manage stakeholder relationships across all levels of client organizations.
  • Delivering outstanding work that meets or exceeds client expectations and Wheelhouse's quality standards.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in SEO and/or digital strategy with 3+ years of leading digital strategy for enterprise clients, preferably in healthcare or medical device industries
  • Proven expertise in international and multi-language SEO, with a track record of developing and executing global search strategies
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex business challenges into actionable digital strategies and articulate their business value
  • Executive presence with the ability to speak clearly and convincingly to the business value of strategic initiatives, moving beyond tactical SEO to connect digital strategy to broader business objectives and revenue impact
  • Deep expertise in search engine optimization, content strategy, and user experience, with strong technical SEO proficiency
  • Experience implementing schema markup and conducting comprehensive technical SEO audits
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, enterprise SEO tools, and keyword research platforms
  • Experience with AI optimization and content strategy, including experimenting with AI tools and a basic understanding of LLMs and how they work
  • Understanding of CRO principles and UX optimization, with experience supporting performance marketing initiatives
  • Experience managing client engagements of $500K+ in value
  • Strong leadership abilities, including experience mentoring team members and contributing to team capability development
  • Outstanding relationship-building skills, with a demonstrated ability to understand clients' business goals and cultivate strong personal connections
  • Proven ability to independently manage strategic client relationships and lead executive-level conversations
  • Track record of managing multiple concurrent client workstreams effectively
  • Ability to balance high-level strategic thinking with attention to detail in day-to-day execution
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to create compelling strategic narratives
  • Agency experience is required.
