About the role
- Administer and coordinate military and veterans education benefit programs in alignment with university policies and applicable regulations.
- Prepare and distribute clear, accurate information to students about available military benefit programs and how to use them.
- Prepare and submit monthly certifications of attendance and related invoices for new and continuing students.
- Verify student eligibility, monitor enrollment changes, and update records to reflect the correct current entitlement.
- Serve as a primary liaison between students and entities such as the Department of Veterans Affairs, state approving agencies, and other military organizations to research and resolve issues with claims, billing, and non-payment.
- Maintain well-organized physical and virtual student files, including required forms, documentation, and communications, while protecting confidentiality.
- Ensure payments and paperwork are processed accurately and on time, support departmental meetings and workshops, and complete additional projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two or more years of experience in financial aid or a similar customer service environment supporting students or customers in a regulated program.
- Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
- High attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing, entering, and reconciling student and payment information.
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex benefit information in an accessible way.
- Demonstrated ability to assist and support students, colleagues, and partners with patience, empathy, and a service mindset.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive student and benefit information appropriately.
