About the role

  • Partner with executive leadership to define and execute the transformation strategy aligned to Western Union’s business priorities.
  • Act as a change agent, challenging current practices and driving adoption of new ways of working.
  • Identify opportunities to embed digital transformation, automation, and advanced analytics into core business processes.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance scalability and compliance.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma, Agile, and other best-practice methodologies to deliver sustainable results.
  • Build a framework for continuous improvement across teams, ensuring initiatives link to measurable business outcomes (cost, efficiency, compliance, customer experience).
  • Oversee a portfolio of strategic transformation initiatives, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and value-driven delivery.
  • Establish governance and reporting mechanisms to track progress, risks, and benefits realization.
  • Ensure alignment between global and regional priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team and senior leadership, providing insights, recommendations, and thought leadership.
  • Influence and align diverse stakeholders across functions, balancing strategic goals with operational realities.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive leadership experience in transformation, operations, or enterprise change management.
  • Proven experience owning and executing an enterprise-level transformation portfolio (in-house experience preferred), with demonstrated delivery of measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to prioritize high-impact strategic initiatives (top enterprise priorities vs. fragmented improvements).
  • Expertise in Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred), Agile methodologies, and structured program/project governance (PMP or equivalent certification preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience driving end-to-end, sustainable process transformation across multiple functions and geographies.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at C-suite and senior executive levels; comfortable challenging the status quo and driving alignment across diverse leadership teams.
  • Experience operating in complex, regulated environments (banking, fintech, financial services, or similar) preferred, Risk & Compliance exposure beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to translate strategy into execution and measurable performance metrics.
  • Proven people leadership experience.
