About the role
- Drive the transformation of Performance Engineering and improve engineering practices for WIMT Platform Engineering
- Oversee all performance testing deliverables and activities for large, highly complex programs
- Act as an advisor to leadership on applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, and web technologies
- Lead strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique technical challenges across multiple areas or the enterprise
- Translate advanced technology experience into long-term, large-scale technical engineering solutions aligned to business objectives
- Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership and strategically engage with professionals across the enterprise
- Work hands-on with Performance Engineers to create performance testing solutions
- Work with CTO team to analyze results and debug latency challenges
- Create common Splunk and AppDynamics patterns, queries, and configurations for the Performance Engineering team
- Design, execute, and analyze performance tests to ensure systems meet performance requirements
- Guide team, provide technical direction, mentor engineers, and resolve complex cross-functional technical challenges
Requirements
- 7+ years of Engineering experience (or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education)
- 7+ years of executing and leading Performance Testing
- 5+ years of scripting languages to create Performance testing utilities/reusable components
- 2+ years of experience working with observability rules
- 2+ years of executing Performance Testing in Data Center migration programs (desired)
- 5+ years of experience with LoadRunner and/or JMeter/Blazemeter (desired)
- 5+ years working with AppDynamics, Splunk or Grafana (desired)
- Knowledge of Network infrastructure, Firewall, and Load Balancers
- Knowledge of OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) or other cloud experience like PCF
- Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Flexibility to be on call beyond normal working hours
- Ability to work additional hours as needed
