About the role
- Manage and develop Scaled Agile portfolios of high complexity, enabling predictable delivery across multiple Agile teams and value streams
- Guide Agile teams in the consistent application of Agile and Scrum practices, promoting effective prioritization, team readiness, and reliable Sprint and Program Increment commitments
- Optimize scrum team velocity and flow by leveraging metrics and empirical data to identify improvement opportunities and drive higher levels of performance
- Identify, manage, and oversee systemic impediments to team agility, coaching teams on resolution approaches and guiding appropriate escalation paths
- Deliver capabilities using Agile practices while adhering to the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), business process mapping, and established release processes to ensure risk, security, and development requirements are met
- Partner with discipline and functional managers to communicate governance expectations, policy requirements, and adherence to corporate standards to Agile teams
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers, and Program/Project Managers to communicate delivery progress, surface dependencies, and escalate key risks and issues impacting team effectiveness
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and leaders across technology and business domains to resolve issues and achieve shared objectives
- Engage with internal customers and stakeholders to ensure alignment between business needs and delivery outcomes
- Receive strategic direction from leadership while exercising independent judgment and developing a strong understanding of enterprise functions, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Train, coach, and mentor less experienced Agile practitioners, contributing to the growth of Agile maturity across the organization
Requirements
- 5+ years of Agile Scrum Master experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
- Experience coaching Agile teams using Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid approaches, supporting teams as they mature toward predictable, self‑sustaining delivery practices
- Proven ability to support end‑to‑end delivery across multiple teams, including dependency management, release coordination, and identification and escalation of delivery risks
- Strong working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), change management, and release governance, with experience ensuring adherence to required policies, controls, and standards
- Experience guiding and enabling large, cross‑functional delivery efforts in a scaled Agile environment
- Demonstrated ability to optimize team flow and delivery performance using metrics, empirical data, and continuous improvement practices
- Experience partnering with Product Managers, Product Owners, and engineering teams to align priorities, plans, and delivery outcomes
- Strong capabilities in cross‑functional coordination and stakeholder communication, including surfacing impediments, managing delivery risks, and maintaining transparency across teams and leadership
- Hands‑on experience using Agile and delivery tooling (e.g., Jira or equivalent) to support planning, tracking, dependency management, and release readiness
- Ability to identify and address systemic impediments to team agility, coaching teams on resolution approaches and guiding appropriate escalation paths
- Proven ability to foster continuous improvement, collaboration, and consistent delivery behaviors across teams within a product, program, or value stream
- Experience mentoring and coaching Agile practitioners, contributing to increased Agile maturity across the organization
