About the role

  • Process large-scale LiDAR point cloud datasets to generate accurate 3D representations of terrain, bridges, buildings, and transportation networks.
  • Develop high-fidelity surface models, solid models, and detailed mesh outputs suitable for engineering analysis and visualization.
  • Perform noise filtering, classification, and segmentation to ensure data quality and usability.
  • Convert point cloud data into engineering-ready models, drawings, and deliverables aligned with civil and structural standards.
  • Create detailed digital models for bridge components and other complex structural assets, supporting inspection, analysis, and retrofit planning.
  • Collaborate with structural and civil engineers to align models with design intent and analytical requirements.
  • Analyze LiDAR-derived models to extract measurements, profiles, and condition insights for infrastructure assessments.
  • Prepare technical documentation and reports tailored for engineering, planning, and decision-making audiences.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet accuracy thresholds, quality benchmarks, and project specifications.
  • Work with CAD, BIM, and civil engineering platforms to integrate LiDAR outputs into downstream workflows.
  • Maintain modeling standards, version control, and quality assurance practices across projects.
  • Contribute to the improvement of internal workflows, automation, and best practices for LiDAR-based modeling.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in LiDAR data processing, analysis, and 3D modeling for infrastructure or civil projects.
  • Strong experience developing detailed mesh and surface models from point cloud data.
  • Solid understanding of bridge structures and large-scale civil assets from an engineering perspective.
  • Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and civil engineering or geospatial modeling software.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate spatial data into engineering-grade models and technical reports.
  • Nice to Have
  • Experience with Scan-to-BIM workflows and BIM-based asset modeling.
  • Exposure to large transportation, urban infrastructure, or public works projects.
  • Familiarity with automation, scripting, or optimization of LiDAR processing pipelines.
